Courvoisier The Future 500 is an elite network of the rising stars in the UK. Members benefit from exclusive offers and events and direct access to influential talent from a broad spectrum of disciplines - from art to public life, science to entertainment.

Playing a massive part of Courvoisier’s marketing efforts in 08/09 is The Future 500. Launched in November of 2007 with 500 members, it has recently announced a recent intake of a further 400 members. The excercise has so far cost over £1m to execute.

I’m a big fan of this campaign. Invitation-only networks build fantastic brand loyalty whilst making it the envy of all those who aren’t members. Joining up with The Observer as a media partner gives it the right exposure much further than the 900 existing members. However, the key to its success lies in taking the ’social networking’ offline. Courvoisier holds parties for all members where they can network and collaborate on new ideas. This certainly brings the concept to life and seperates it from simply being a ‘branded’ Linkedin.

Importantly for Courvoisier it means they have access to almost 1000 influential people up and down the UK who will remain true ambassadors of the brand for years to come. They range from creative directors, to artists, to CEOs. The judging panel that decides each member’s fate includes Seb Bishop, the newly appointed international CEO of (RED).
